Cla-Val Pump control valves are designed to protect pipelines from surges caused by the starting and stopping of pumps. These valves are installed on the discharge of a pump and is electronically coupled to the pump. When the pump is started the valve opens slowly, gradually increasing the line pressure to full pumping head, (opening and closing speeds are adjustable). When the pump is signaled to shut-off, the valve is first allowed to close slowly, gradually reducing the flow while the pump continues to run. When the valve is closed a limit switch assembly releases the pump starter and the pump stops. Additional features are available including a built-in check valve which will prevent reverse flow that may damage the pump. Can include pressure reducing, pressure sustaining and/or flow control pilots. Sizes range from 2 ½? to 30? and larger. Many types, options and materials are available.
